The snow has spread across the countryside as gently as cotton wool. After a magnificent autumn, the Ultental turns to winter practically overnight. Advent, Christmas, New Year’s, the cold of January, the warming rays of February sunshine, the first hints of springtime in March – the Ultental’s white season is especially magnificent.
The free ski bus will take you straight to Ulten’s Schwemmalm ski area.
The Schwemmalm ski area in Ultental was declared a winner in the 2009 Ski Arena Test.
At elevations ranging from 1500 to 2,625 m, the ski area offers you around 18 km of runs for fantastic skiing enjoyment!
On a total of 25 km of cross-country trails, you can glide to the villages of St. Walburg, St. Nikolaus and St. Gertraud, plus you get to choose between classic and “skating” cross-country technique.

Ice skating... that’s also a part of the wintertime fun in Ultental! The skating rink is located in Kuppelwies, close to the valley lift station for the Schwemmalm ski area.
